How Long Will My Batteries Last With A 1500 Watt Load On My Inverter:

1. This common question is often avoided by Lithium Battery and Inverters Sellers. The main reason for this is they don't know how to caculate this nor do they understand it. To do this calculation easily divide load watts by actual battery voltage, this will be in the range of 12.8 Volts up to 13.4 Volts for a fully charged Lithium LiFePO4 battery. Then allow for inverter efficiency, typically 90% for a high quality Inverter such as the Power Grabba 3000W. The calculation is this 1500W load @ 13V --- 1500 ÷ 13 ÷ 0.90 = 128 Amps. One Power Grabba 120Ah Lithium Battery with a Depth Of Discharge of 80% ( Maxium Recommended ) will run a 1500W appliance continuously for 45 minutes if no charge is being put into the battery.
2. With two 120Ah batteries this time is extended to one and a half hours. Put simply this would allow you to run a 1000W microwave oven no stop for just under three hours, highly unlikely and this being with any charge input into the batteries such as Solar.
